Almos' Pau. Try Wait.
This is my favorite bumper sticker here. It's hanging up at work, and every time I see it, I have to smile. When I was a kid, I thought "pau" was spelled "pow," because in my mind, "pow" seemed to fit more, like, "Ka-pow!! It's done! Boo-ya!" Now I'm remembering to say "ono" and "oishii" instead of "hen hao chi, 很好吃" I still want to say, "謝謝" though. Writing in Pinyin for a better part of a year and a half has made it difficult for me to write in phonetic Hawaiian though...I can't spell anything anymore.
I've been home for almost two months now, and finally settling in. I spent most of January studying for the LSAT, which I took (again) on February 6th. It turns out, I probably didn't have to take it again, since, even without getting my new score back yet (I find out my score in 10 days), University of Hawaii at Manoa's William S. Richardson School of Law accepted me!! I'm going to Law School! Yay! I'm still waiting to hear back from Penn State and University of DC, but I'm pretty happy that the school I originally wanted (not my back up schools) accepted me first!
Bo is recovering from surgery. At 14 years of age, he's 98 years old in doggie years! He had a lump on his back leg that was quickly growing, so on Tuesday, we took him into surgery. He was very happy to come back home, but he refuses to eat his pain medication (even if we put it in cheese, peanut butter, chicken), because he thinks we're trying to poison him. He has too good of a memory, and holds grudges. It's funny living with my parents again after being on my own for six years ("funny" as in, sometimes it's a struggle not to fall back into "roles" ^_^). It's wonderful that I don't have to pay rent, that I don't have to hold a full time job, a part time job and donate plasma just to pay for school and rent (well, I might have to start that up again for school...). Yep, I'm living on easy street for now...but not for long! Don't worry, mom and dad, I'll be gone before you know it! lol.
My Dad and my Mom have been teaching me how to play the sanshin, hopefully I'll catch on quickly...in time for Obon festival in August?? Maybe. ^_^
And more recently, I'm very much enjoying the olympics. ^_^

Congratulations, I love reading your blogs. I forgot Hawaii was your first choice for law! That's even more incredible. I'm sure studying for the lsats twice will help you when you start the program hahha. Bo looks so good! I can't believe he's almost 100. In dog years. Love ya!
Connie, you make me more than ever want to visit Hawaii!!
CONGRATS ON GRAD SCHOOL!!! That is awesome!
I hope your dog recovers soon! What a sweetie! I am so excited you are going to law school! That's awesome! And living without having to donate plasma ... priceless :) Miss you!
I love the new picture! It's like the essence of Hawaii. (K, that sounded dumb, but I'm leaving it). I miss you, but I'm glad that we've been staying in touch. Hoorah for technology!!! :) And I totally understand the whole living with the parents thing--I'm going through all of that right now too. But it's been pretty good. I really can't complain!
Yay Connie for an awesome LSAT score, getting into UH law school and for finally posting! Just kidding, I can't talk I haven't posted in a million years! I love the new picture, as well as the one you took of the sanshin and can't wait to see you in August before you head off to school. Love you!
